Vineyards   ....and so many to visit.

And heres one just a mere walking distance away.

Cliff & Sandra, who we met in June'05, seem to be the experts on the area and have been frequenting Vias Plage and the surroundings for
several years.  They came to visit us and I am glad to say they have kept in touch.   They own a place on the Les Salisses parc opposite.

They can recommend the trip to Domaine Saint Pierre ....
well, that's if you are partial to the wine.

The Vineyard offer conducted tours of the vineyard  and winery. Here you can sample fine wines.  Marks and Spencers are amongst their customers.

Inland a little, is Marsellan Village, home of the Noilly Prat vinery and a conducted tour is strongly recommended.
You can sample the various types of Vermouth and purchase at a discount from the shop, as recommended by Cliff and Sandra.

Our own preference is the vineyard
at Saint-Felix, close to Gignac to
the North West of Montpellier.

We usually make that our first port
of call, either to pick up some wine
for the visitor ready to take
back to the UK

A Day Trip

You can make the trip to Saint-Felix as apart of a day out to the

beautiful village of St. Guilhem-le-Desert.

but on the way, it is essential to visit the gorge...

and then the caves if you have the time.

Why do YOU visit la Carabasse?

      Best walks or cycle rides:

           Alongside the Canal du midi......

at all times of the year.

Head towards Beziers on the

south side of the canal....

and treat yourself to a pizza and a

cool drink a few kilometres along.

If you manage to get to the peak of the mountain, on

from St. Guilhem-le-Desert the view is stunning.

Watch out for the unmade road and the extra strong winds though.
